“Not only is there an uptick in job availability from the tech boom in Dallas, but the small-town environment of these neighborhoods and easy access to the vibrancy of a big city are what buyers are looking for,” said Chelsea Goyer, national head of brokerage at Opendoor.

Cities on the outer reaches of Dallas-Fort Worth have seen a building boom in recent years as buyers looked for more affordable homes, and Forney is a prime example. The growing city 19 miles east of downtown Dallas has been a magnet for commuters.
